The Rebel Report Weekly Recap For September 19-25th

Men’s Soccer
21 Sep vs the University of San Diego: UNLV men’s soccer drew 2-2 with the University of
San Diego Toreros. UNLV’s Hayden Prasad was involved in both goals, scoring one and
assisting on the other. The Rebels conceded in the 88th minute thanks to a header from San
Diego’s Trevor Dillon.


Women’s Soccer
22 Sep at Boise State: UNLV women’s soccer opened their conference schedule with a 0-0
draw against the Boise State Broncos. The Broncos had the better possession and chances, but
the Rebels had the best chance to score. Mallie Ramirez launched a shot that was brilliantly
saved by Boise State goalkeeper Genevieve Crenshaw.

25 Sep at Utah State: UNLV women’s soccer came up short once again against the Utah State
Aggies losing 2-1. The Aggies scored two early goals in the fourth and 10th minutes. The Rebels
did get one back in the 81st minute through Mimi Mendoza, but it was too late.


Volleyball
22 Sep at Colorado State University: UNLV volleyball lost their conference opener 3-0 to the
defending Mountain West regular season champion Colorado State Rams. The Rebels made
several mistakes, finishing with 28 errors, which more than doubled the Rams' total of
11. UNLV’s Isabel Martin finished with a game-high 16 kills.


24 Sep at the University of Wyoming: UNLV volleyball responded by sweeping the Wyoming
Cowgirls 3-0. The Rebels only had 16 errors in this game. The stars of the game for the Rebels
were Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos with 12 kills and Jhenna Gabriel with 39 assists.


Men’s Golf
23-24 Sep at William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, NM: UNLV men’s golf
placed third at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. The Rebels shot a final round of one-
under-par 287. UNLV’s Caden Fioroni led on the opening day but finished 10-under 206, which
was second to Denver’s Carson Griggs (-11).


Men’s Tennis
23-25 Sep at Napa Valley Invite in Napa Valley, CA: UNLV men’s tennis had a tough run in
the Napa Valley Invite. For the Rebels, Milos Dabic picked up wins on day one in singles and
doubles and Eduardo Cohen got wins in singles and doubles on day three. The Rebels did not get
any wins on day two.


Women’s Cross Country

23 Sep at Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, MN: UNLV’s Natalia Ruiz finished with a team-
best 22:02.1 in the women’s cross country Gold 6k event. Ruiz’s time ranks 15th all-time in
UNLV’s record books. Overall, Ruiz finished 59th, while her other teammates Ellen Wise,
LaKyla Yazzie, and Isabella Schrader completed the race with times of 24:49.8, 25:53.2, and
26:22.5, respectively.


Football
24 Sep at Utah State: UNLV football improved to 3-1 by defeating the Utah State Aggies in
Utah 34-24 in their first conference game of the season. UNLV quarterback Doug Brumfield
once again starred for the Rebels running for two touchdowns and throwing for another. Up next,
the Rebels will return home on Sept. 30 to play New Mexico.
