Monday, Nov. 8
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat 113-96. Two hard fouls from Markieff Morris and Nikola Jokic highlighted the game resulting in both being ejected in the fourth quarter.
The New York Knicks took advantage of Joel Embiid being out for the Philadelphia 76ers, defeating them 103-96. Embiid missed the game due to COVID-19 and the 76ers were also without Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle.
The Los Angeles Lakers bounced back from two bad losses against the Charlotte Hornets, winning the game 126-123 in overtime. The standout performances were from LaMelo Ball, who recorded a triple-double, and Carmelo Anthony, who scored 29 points off the bench.
Tuesday, Nov. 9:
The Los Angeles Clippers extended their win streak to five games by winning against the Portland Trail Blazers 117-109. Despite the losing effort, the Trail Blazers had the highlight of the game after Anfernee Simons threw down a powerful one-handed dunk on Ivica Zubac.
The Atlanta Hawks continued to struggle, losing their fifth game in a row against the Utah Jazz 110-98. The Jazz were led by their star player Donovan Mitchell, who scored 27 points. They also got 16 points off the bench from 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson.
The Philadelphia 76ers were once again shorthanded against the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks, losing 118-109. Tyrese Maxey matched Giannis Antetokounmpo with 31 points in the losing effort.
Wednesday, Nov. 10:
Andrew Wiggins produced a fine performance against his former team as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 123-110. Wiggins scored 35 points and produced the highlight of the game with a nasty dunk over Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Brooklyn Nets annihilated the Orlando Magic 123-90. The usual suspects Kevin Durant and James Harden led the Nets with 30 points and a triple-double respectively.
Thursday, Nov. 11:
Tyrese Maxey had another big game with 33 points for the Philadelphia 76ers, but they still lost to the Toronto Raptors 115-109. Fred VanVleet hit six three-pointers for 32 points, including a key three with 25 seconds left to put the Raptors up by four points.
The Los Angeles Clippers won their sixth game in a row, defeating the Miami Heat 112-109. Bam Adebayo scored 30 points in the losing effort, with 19 of those coming in the first quarter.
Friday, Nov. 12:
The Los Angeles Lakers got destroyed by the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-83. The Lakers star men Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook had great shooting nights and combined for 42 points, but the others struggled with Dwight Howard being the only other Laker to shoot over 40% from the field.
A late decision to not play Giannis Antetokounmpo due to an ankle injury led to a loss for the Milwaukee Bucks against the Boston Celtics 122-113. Dennis Schroder had a fantastic game with 38 points and eight rebounds for the Celtics.
Steph Curry broke Ray Allen’s previously held three-point record as the Golden State Warriors beat the high-flying Chicago Bulls 119-93. Curry advanced to 3366 career three-pointers.
Saturday, Nov. 13:
The surprising Washington Wizards jumped to the top of the Eastern Conference after beating the Orlando Magic 104-92. New additions Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma, and Montrezl Harrell combined for 60 points for the Wizards.
The Los Angeles Clippers won their seventh game in a row after demolishing the Minnesota Timberwolves 129-102. Paul George had a game-high 23 points and got help from Reggie Jackson, who scored 21 points.
The Miami Heat ended a three-game losing streak against the Utah Jazz, winning a close game 111-105. Tyler Herro only hit one of his seven three-pointers, but still finished with a game-high 27 points.
Sunday, Nov. 14:
DeMar DeRozan came up big with 35 points as the Chicago Bulls ended the Los Angeles Clippers seven-game winning streak. The Bulls won the game 100-90 and also got a big performance from Zach LaVine, who scored 29 points.
Last season’s Eastern Conference Final rematch ended with the Atlanta Hawks defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 120-100. Trae Young dominated the game, scoring 42 points and adding eight rebounds and 10 assists.
Another win streak ended at seven games when the Charlotte Hornets beat the Golden State Warriors 106-102. Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges, and LaMelo Ball all scored 20 points or more for the Hornets.
