AMERICAN LEAGUE
The Tampa Bay Rays have clinched the top seed as they won their series this past weekend against the Florida Marlins.
The Houston Astros are currently at the top of the AL West and hold the second spot.They only need two wins to clinch the second seed.
The Chicago White Sox clinched the third seed while leading the AL Central.
With the New York Yankees clinching the first Wild Card spot, the second spot is still a fight to the finish. The Boston Red Sox are currently holding the spot for the second Wild Card. While they may hold it right now, the Blue Jays are currently one and a half games behind them.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
The National League is nothing short of a race.
The Atlanta Braves currently are at the top of the National East. With the Phillies right at their toes with only being two and a half games behind them.
In the West, while both having over 100 games won, the Dodgers and Giants are fighting for who will get the top seed. The Dodgers are two games behind the Giants as they are both heading into their final series.
While Milwaukee Brewers have clinched their spot in the playoff picture as they lead the Central Division, with The Cardinals clinching the second wildcard spot.
KEY SERIES TO WATCH THIS WEEK
PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES AT ATLANTA BRAVES - This key series makes or breaks a chance for the Phillies to have a chance in October baseball. The first game of the series is on Sept. 29 at 4:30pm PDT.
NEW YORK YANKEES AT TORONTO BLUES- The Yankees look to keep up their momentum heading into this October. The Blue Jays have been sneaking up and need to win these final series to make it into the postseason.
