NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

The weekend opens up Friday night, beginning with the Victoria’s Voice 200 for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Round of 8 opener.

Pole winner via NASCAR’s new qualifying metrics to accommodate the lack of a time trial session due to COVID-19, John Hunter Nemechek, won the Trucks’ first visit to Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March to secure a NASCAR playoff spot.

Nemechek enters the race sitting atop the playoff standings, 24 points ahead of defending series champion Sheldon Creed.

Creed lines up 9th Friday, the last out of all playoff drivers.

Last week's winner at Bristol Motor Speedway Chandler Smith starts second, hoping to go for two in a row and punch his ticket to the Championship 4.

Here is how the rest of the Playoff drivers stack up for Friday night’s event:

P3. Stewart Friesen (52)

P4. Zane Smith (21)

P5. Carson Hocevar (42)

P6. Matt Crafton (88)

P7. Ben Rhodes (99)

Watch the Victoria’s Voice 200 Friday night on FOX Sports 1 at 6p.m. PST.

NASCAR Xfinity Series

The NASCAR Xfinity Series kicks off their Round of 12 Saturday night with the running of the Alsco Uniforms 302.

Last week’s winner and previous race winner at Las Vegas earlier this season A.J. Allmendinger will come into Saturday night’s race tied for the lead in the series playoff standings with defending series champion Austin Cindric.

Cindric and Allmendinger will start on the front row Saturday, with Cindric winning the pole position via NASCAR’s metric qualifying.

Cindric finished second right behind Allmendinger last weekend at Bristol following an action-filled final lap, leaving both drivers climbing from their wrecked cars after sliding across the finish line side by side.

Directly in tow behind Allmendinger and Cindric in the points standings is third place finisher at Bristol, Justin Allgaier and hometown product Noah Gragson.

Gragson is yet to score a win at his home track in any NASCAR national series race, and is entering the weekend looking to break his string of bad luck that has been plaguing him since the start of the season.

Gragson will start in P9, followed by fellow Vegas native and playoff contender Riley Herbst in P10.

The other Playoff drivers will line up in:

P3. Justin Alllgaier (7)

P4. Justin Haley (11)

P5. Harrison Burton (20)

P7. Daniel Hemric (18)

P8. Brandon Jones (19)

P12. Myatt Snider (2)

P13. Jermey Clements (51)

P14. Jeb Burton (10)

Tune in Saturday at 4 p.m. PST on NBC Sports Network to catch all of the action live.

NASCAR Cup Series

Rounding out the weekend action is Sunday’s South Point 400, beginning a new round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs after a fiery finish at Bristol last week.

Defending series champion Chase Elliott clashed with Kevin Harvick in the final laps of the race en route to a Kyle Larson victory. Elliott and Harvick proceeded to get into a heated argument post-race, while Elliott’s Hendrick motorsports teammate celebrated his series leading sixth win of the season.

Larson will start on the pole following NASCAR’s qualifying algorithm, with Harvick starting P5, separated by six positions to Elliott in P11.

The rest of the 12 Playoff contenders fill the top 12 starting spots as follows:

P2. Ryan Blaney (12)

P3. William Byron (24)

P4. Martin Truex Jr. (19)

P6. Denny Hamlin (11)

P7. Alex Bowman(48)

P8. Brad Keselowski (2)

P9. Joey Logano (22)

P10. Kyle Busch (18)

P12. Christopher Bell (20)
