Knights Tie Series at 1: Defeat Wild 3-1.

1st Period : Marc-Andre Fleury, that is all. 

Not to say that there was no action in the first frame away from Fleury, yet the Vegas net-minder didn’t lose a step off of a great game one. Throughout the first period, Fleury faced 17-shots. 

Four of those shots came all in a row, as he turned away each high danger chance. His consistency from game one, had surely spilled over into the early-goings of game two. 

It is no secret that the Wild want to get pucks far into the Vegas zone and wear the Knights down through a very defensive-offensive attack. The Wild forecheck is one of the best in the entire league, if not the best. 

They generated chances in front of Fleury and were successful in their scheme to only be turned away. Down the other end, Cam Talbot was helped out by his defense giving up their body to block shots.

Mattias Janmark had a high quality chance in the waning minutes of the first. Although Matt Dumba laid down blocking it and Talbot followed with a save. 

The best chance in the whole period for Vegas  came when Mark Stone was all alone with Talbot. To only have Talbot take a poke and send the puck away. 

2nd Period : Finally, Vegas gets on the board. 

After over 80 minutes of playoff hockey, the Golden Knights finally found the back of the net. Although it came after the Wild struck first. 

In the middle part of the second frame, Matt Dumba found the back of the net beating Fleury from range. The lead would not last long though for the visitors. 

Jonathan Marchessualt beat Talbot with a wrist shot, to tie the game and finally get Vegas on the board in the series. Later, Alex Tuch would take the lead for Vegas with a snap-shot that beat Talbot clean.

Vegas carried the momentum from the two goals and with the home crowd behind them, the ice had titled. The Knights were able to take a 2-1 lead into the third period. 

3rd Period : Series Even.

Vegas was able to control the third period and settle in front of Fleury. Minnesota was able to put some great chances on net, yet the Knights net-minder stayed firm. 

Towards the end of the third and final frame, the crowd was buzzing. A ringing was being sent through T-Mobile that is here to stay for as many more playoff games to come. 

A freezy erupted as Tuch’s second goal of the game, put the Knights up by two. That would be the icing on the cake as Vegas took a two-goal victory and tied the series at one. 

What’s Next : 

With the series tied up at 1-1, the series shifts to St.Paul. Vegas has struggled notoriously in St.Paul, the Knights went 1-3 on the road up north this season.
