UNLV alumni Kyle Isbel made his MLB debut Thursday for the Kansas City Royals in their 14-10 win over the Texas Rangers.
Isbel played three seasons for the Rebels, from 2016-18, with his best statistical season coming in his third year, where he recorded 85 hits for 56 RBIs and 14 home runs, while also garnering six stolen bases.
Isbel was today Monday that he made Kansas City’s 26 man Opening Day roster.
“That was a crazy moment,” Isbel said. “[It is] something I’ll never forget, super emotional and a super awesome experience.”
Isbel had himself a day, recording two RBIs while going 3 for 5 at the plate.
Isbel will return to the diamond Friday, April 3, for the second game in Kansas City’s home series against the Rangers.
