Following that reveal, the athletic department announced that all in-person activities for the Men's basketball team had been suspended until further notice. This comes after the game scheduled for Dec. 14 against the Pepperdine Waves had been cancelled due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Rebel's team.   The university also announced the postponement of their upcoming two-game series against the Wyoming Cowboys.  They did not mention when that series would be rescheduled and played.

Coach Otzelberger stated in his post that he is currently in isolation and is looking forward to rejoining the team as soon as possible.  Hopefully, he will be back with the team soon and they can resume their season.  This will now be the third and fourth games cancelled or postponed for the Rebels due to COVID-19 this season.  Assuming no more positive tests or setbacks, the Rebels next game will be against the San Diego State Aztecs on Jan. 2 - almost a full month from their last game they played.
