The Vegas Golden Knights take on the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. The game kicks off with both teams struggling to gain any momentum. Both teams got a couple of shots on goal, but struggled to put anything past the Goaltenders. Ending the 1st period, scoreless.
As we enter the 2nd period scoreless, the Vegas Golden Knights come out and show why they are one of the best in the Western Conference. The opening minutes belonged to Vegas, Jonathan Marchessault scores the first goal of the game, with Assists coming from William Karlsson and Reilly Smith. Vegas looks to keep the momentum going, but Nate Schmidt is called for tripping, and the game takes a sudden turn.
Shortly after, Nosek is called for a high stick on Anaheim Ducks captain, Ryan Getzlaf. Nosek struck Getzlaf in the face, drawing blood, thus creating the 2-Man advantage. Not only did the Ducks capitalize on this opportunity, but they took control of the game as well. The Ducks cashed in three goals, all under two minutes. Goals coming from, Henrique, Fowler, and Comtois, taking away every last bit of momentum the Golden Knights had.
Going into the 3rd period, the Golden Knights look to create their own chances and strive for a comeback. After a couple of chances from both teams, Devin Shore finds the hole, to put the Anaheim Ducks up 4-1. In the last minutes of the game, Nate Schmidt finds the net two times for the Golden Knights, but it was far too late. The game ends, 4-3, as the Ducks take one over the Vegas Golden Knights
