The Vegas Golden Knights lose 2-1, as Fans "Unite" to show love for people suffering with Cancer

The Golden Knights host the San Jose Sharks on “Hockey Fights Cancer” Night. The game was dedicated to cancer survivors and people who are currently suffering from cancer. I talked to some Golden Knights fans, about the significance and emotional aspect of the game tonight. When asked “What seemed to differentiate tonight's game and any other game, while the difference can be both emotional and physical.” A Golden Knights fan says that she, “Personally got emotional during that moment,” as the T-Mobile Arena was lit up with the flashlights of cellphones. “Tonight we definitely did have unity, but we do every night as well.” “Especially because so many people in my life are affected by cancer, and I think that every game we get that sense of unity.” The T-Mobile is full of people with fire and passion, but we are still a family.

A huge defensive game for both teams, both ending the first period scoreless. Going into the second period, a goal coming in from Timo Meier to start it off, while the Golden Knights stay scoreless. The Golden Knights get off 28 shots on goal through 2 Periods, but struggle to get anything to hit the back of the net. The Third Period begins and the Vegas fans are louder than ever. The Golden Knights get a couple chances… Fans were just itching for a goal. Brayden McNabb delivered, a game-tying goal to keep the momentum, and to keep the San Jose Sharks Scoreless. The overtime face-off immediately leads to a breakaway, which led to an amazing save by Fleury, one of his many saves. The Golden Knights get a breakaway of their own, as soon as Fleury releases the puck, but Aaron Dell was quick to stop the breakaway as well. Within the first two minutes of overtime, we had a total of 2 scoring opportunities, but San Jose capitalized before we could. Logan Couture had a breakaway for himself, the first shot saved by Fleury, but Couture got the goal off the rebound. Ending the game, 2-1, as San Jose takes the points for tonight. With the overtime loss behind them, The Golden Knights take on the Edmonton Oilers at the Fortress on Saturday, at 7:00PM.
