Sports was never the main attraction in Vegas, and it will be hard to fade away from the “Gaming” and “Gambling” side of things. Before the Golden Knights, Boxing was at the top, but the fans all around Vegas needed something more frequent. Welcome, The Vegas Golden Knights. People immediately started doubting the decision. “Hockey in the desert?” The Golden Knights kicked off their Inaugural season with a bang, with a win over the Dallas Stars, in their first ever game. The Knights took over Las Vegas as quickly as the temperature changes in Las Vegas. The Attendance rate has done nothing but skyrocket upwards, over the last 2 seasons, and we do not expect it to stop anytime soon.
After the Vegas sports fans were noticed on the big stage at T-Mobile Arena, people started to realize how big of a role sports play to the residents. The only thing that was missing, Was a professional NFL team. The Oakland Raiders are moving to Las Vegas, with their first season kicking off in 2020. I have been a Vegas Resident for several years, and quickly realized how much football means to this community. With local High Schools leading the way, like Bishop Gorman has continued to do, year after year.
UFC and Boxing events still bring in the massive audience, and they keep the same energy every year. Whether you are a Las Vegas resident or not, you can enjoy a professional sporting event at any point in the year. Spring, Is when you can hear the crack of the bat, and the constant heckling from fans. Go out to the Ballpark and enjoy a Las Vegas Aviators game. The New Las Vegas ballpark is surely one of the best minor league stadiums in the country. The Bright Lights and the Vegas sunset, make out an incredible scene.
